My poor babe honestly had baby acne for at least a solid 2 months! They said it would go away after a week or two, but it definitely did not!
As a new mom, you are worried about EVERYTHING! I questioned if it was a rash.. maybe she had an allergic reaction to something.. the soap wasn't sensitive enough... maybe I needed to hand wash her clothes... I THOUGHT OF IT ALL!
I drove myself crazy until I found a solution.
At first, I read that like everything for a baby, the cure was breast milk. So everyday, multiple times a day, I would rub breast milk on her little cheeks, in hopes that it would solve the issue!
Let me go ahead and say that baby acne obviously is not anything too be too concerned over and it WILL eventually go away, but it just wasn't pleasant!
People would constantly comment on it, like it was something negative, when in reality it is completely normal!
Of course, she was beautiful regardless, but I would be lying if I said I didn't want it gone ASAP!
The breast milk just wasn't working for us, so I decided to dig a little deeper. When I registered at Target for my baby shower, they gave me this awesome little bag full of goodies! In that little bag of gold, was a sample size of "Mustela : Dermo-Cleansing".
*EDIT : The name has now changed to "Mustela : Gentle Cleansing", but is the same product! *
This stuff is honestly like GOLD!
I applied it once a day after bath time for two days.. LITERALLY TWO APPLICATIONS. And her acne was gone!
Like I said, after bath time.. I would take a little bit on my finger, rub it on her dry cheeks until it created suds - similar to suds that would be made by soap. Then I wiped it clean with a dry cloth.
Honestly not even sure of the legit instructions because the sample size didn't have any, but what I did worked! I was over the moon!
Seriously guys, this stuff works for everything! We use it for so many different types of skin irritations, etc.
She began to develop some cradle cap around her ears as well, and I did the same steps for that, and again! Gone!
I OK'd it with my pediatrician and she said YES THAT STUFF ROCKS! So that gave me even more confidence in the product!
Now my babies skin is soft, and acne free! Per usual, ALWAYS consult your pediatrician BEFORE trying any new products on your babes!
